Crisis Battalion

Preface

This is themed after the video game Stellaris. It is based on tenjiku shōgi and has some mechanics inspired by Stellaris. This is not really a very serious suggestion, but it might be interesting if you can get your opponents to allow you to choose it.

Tenjiku shōgi rules referred to should be interpreted as the version of the rules on this page.

A "ferz" is assumed to move and capture like a chess bishop, but only to an adjacent square; a "wazir" is assumed to move and capture like a chess rook, but only to an adjacent square.

Everything is subject to change, and house rules are fine if agreed to by everyone playing.

The developers can rename or change things for intellectual-property-related or other reasons if they want.

Special Rules

  1. This Battalion may only be used in Party Mode.
  2. Only 1 Player is allowed to use this Battalion in a single game.
  3. Crisis Declaration: The normal system of Players having Assigned Targets doesn't exist if Crisis Battalion is in the game. Instead, the following rules apply. The Crisis-Battalion-using Player wins if any of their Opponents has no Titans left on the board. Any non-Crisis-Battalion-using Player wins if said Player Captures the last Titan on the Board that belongs to the Crisis-Battalion-using Player. Any non-Crisis-Battalion-using Player wins if said Player was the last non-Crisis-Battalion-using Player whose Turn it was before the Crisis-Battalion-using
  4. If it would leave the Player with a nonnegative number of Dark Matter Particles, a Player may drop a Star Eater onto an empty Square in their territory as their turn, causing 30 Dark Matter Particles to be subtracted from their total. Keep reading to find out how Players can accumulate Dark Matter Particles.
  5. If the Aetherophasic Titan is Captured, it is immediately and permanently removed from the game regardless of any other rule.
  6. While the Aetherophasic Titan is in the game, the Player owning it gains 1 Mineral at the end of each of their turns.
  7. If it would leave the Player with a nonnegative number of Minerals, a Player may drop a Piece from the table onto an empty square in their territory as their turn, causing the corresponding number of Minerals to be subtracted from their total.
