context: the Titan's Battalion rules

This Piece is not part of a Battalion yet, but it may become part of a Battalion eventually. It's just an example for now. The images on this page are created using the BoardPainter.

This Piece is called the Bear. It has a few different abilities.

  1. It may Move or Capture as a Silver General from Shogun's Battalion but only to those squares in the Rank directly Forward to itself.
  2. It may Move 2 squares in the orthogonally Forward direction, ignoring and leaving unaffected what is on the intervening square. This is considered Leaping. It may Capture by displacement in this manner.
  3. It Move or Capture as a Knight from Medieval Battalion but only to those squares in the Rank directly Forward to itself or the Rank directly Forward to that Rank. This is considered Leaping.
  4. It may Move 1 square orthogonally Back. It does not have the ability to Capture in this manner.

When the Bear Captures, it promotes to Bearer. More information on the Bearer is here. When a Bear is Captured by a non-Titan Piece, a Bearer controlled by the player that did the capture attempts to appear on whichever square the Bear was on, Capturing the contents of the square, including friendly Pieces, if necessary. If it is impossible for the new Bearer to Capture the contents of that square or to land on that square without Capturing its contents, the new Bearer goes to its controller's hand instead.

The Bear is a Motherly Piece. This means that outside of Party Mode, any Childish Piece friendly to it may not go to any Rank more than 2 Forward to it.
